Bilbray in Deep S**t Over Sewage Deal

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 10:03 pm

Raw Story has a new report on the Bajagua Sewage Plant controversy including new allegations facing Republican congressional candidate, Brian Bilbray.

Raw Story reports that the National Security Whistleblower’s Coalition has made allegations against several senior Republicans including Brian Bilbray of undue influence in the wasterwater treatment plant deal.

At a time when Bilbray is facing scrutiny over his job as a lobbyist (and his ballot title which does not say "lobbyist") the Bajagua scandal does not help.  Given Bilbray’s emphasis on his efforts to fight illegal immigration, a Mexican sewage plant scandal is an added distraction.

Also implicated in this mess is San Diego County Congressman, Bob Filner, a Democrat who is being challenged by Juan Vargas.

The activists fighting this deal have set up a website with more information:

Francine Busby Goes National

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 8:50 pm

The race for the 50th gets more interesting by the day and it increasingly has a national flavor to it.

Francine Busby (who has already appeared on Al Franken’s national radio show and received the backing of MoveOn.org) this week delivered the Democrat’s weekly radio address.  This is quite a distinction and honor for a candidate to be tapped for such a high-profile event.  Congratulations to the Busby for Congress team for scoring this major political victory.

Listen to her radio address to the nation here.

The debate about the UAE port transaction is interesting because you have many Democrats targeting Bush but also certain types of Republicans too.  San Diego County Congressman, Duncan Hunter, has introduced a bill to block the port deal.

So much going on. Updates soon!

The airwaves are filling up with ads for the 50th Congressional District candidates.  Now Francine Busby joins her Republican counterparts too.

Brian Bilbray faces a legal hearing over his ballot designation.  Is he an "immigration reform advocate" or an "immigration reform consultant" or a "lobbyist" ?

Cunningham gets his sentence of 100 months.  San Diegans react.

Kaloogian’s pro-military group MoveAmericaForward throws a rally in the rain with a big flag.  Cindy Sheehan rallies the anti-war faithful at UCSD.  She then goes to New York and gets arrested.

Kaloogian, Morrow and Bilbray "Duke" it out over illegal immigration proposals and endorsements.

Jerry Sanders and Donna Frye exchange warm words and smiles and say they work together great.
