Does Bill Morrow Wants to Castrate Eric Roach’s Ex-Business Partner?

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 6:47 pm

An interesting tidbit on Bill Morrow’s campaign website today.

The campaign has announced a new radio ad campaign (backed up by campaign mailers) which tout Morrow’s support for chemically castrating child rapists.

In light of the reports and allegations of pedophilia, child prostitution and child pornography against Eric Roach’s former business associate, Thomas White, it makes you wonder if Morrow thinks Roach’s former partner should be chemically castrated?

Note that Morrow has also received the backing of the authors of Jessica’s Law, George & Sharon Runner.

Kevin Jeffries Lining Up Conservative Support

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 6:30 pm

In North County the 66th Assembly District seat that Ray Haynes is leaving has opened up a multi-candidate race to replace him, on the Republican side that is.

Kevin Jeffries, who previously headed up the Riverside County Republican Party, seems to be lining up most of the early conservative and Republican activist support.  Jeffries endorsements include Assemblyman Ray Haynes himself, former Republican leader Jim Brulte, State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, the Riverside County Young Republicans, and others.  Much of the influence in this district is based in the Riverside County portion.

The 66th Assembly District includes the cities of Fallbrook, Palomar Mountain, Pauma Valley, Pine Valley and Valley Center.

Kaloogian Gets More Endorsements

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 6:19 pm

Howard Kaloogian continues to receive big name endorsements from the right side of the political spectrum.  Kaloogian’s campaign put out a news release claiming the endorsements of Bruce Herschensohn and Alan Keyes.

Herschensohn was a political commentator who ran for U.S. Senate against Barbara Boxer many years ago and almost won.  Keyes is a black conservative activist who ran for U.S. Senate against Barrack Obama and didn’t almost win.

"Howard Kaloogian has been an outstanding leader for conservative Republican ideals. He recognizes that government is the servant of the people rather than the people being the servant of the government. He has had a tradition of supporting liberty, lower taxes, less regulation, traditional values, a strong foreign policy, and honesty and integrity in government. Of course I endorse and support him for the United States Congress."

Ride the Busby Bus

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 6:13 pm

Democrat congressional candidate Francine Busby is busing in supporters from all over California to walk precincts this week.

The Busby campaign says absentee ballots will be in voters hands by Saturday and therefore they want to step up their ground game.

Absentee ballots will be mailed this week and voters will have them in hand by Saturday.  It is vital we are walking this weekend convincing absentee voters to vote for Francine.  If we turn our voters out, we can win in April!
Please join volunteers from all over California who are bussing to North County to support Francine’s campaign.  Hundreds of volunteers will be knocking on doors all day to ensure Francine’s victory on April 11th.

Congressional Candidate Bill Boyer

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 5:46 pm

Bill Boyer, a Republican candidate for Congress in the 50th district, stopped by the SD Politics Blog the other day and passed on his comments regarding the compromise reached in the UAE ports matter.

Here’s an excerpt of his comments.  Note that other candidates including Francine Busby, Bill Morrow and Eric Roach have also made this issue part of their campaign message recently.  Boyer gets the plug because he made it here!  Plus his campaign pledge to "NOT accept any money from any source" is certainly different.  I imagine the Boyer campaign events aren’t the most posh affairs!

BOYER CALLS ON CONGRESS TO MOVE BEYOND PORT DEAL,
PASS COMMON-SENSE LEGISLATION TO PROTECT BORDERS.
Urges American Business to lead efforts on domestic port operations.

CARLSBAD – Republican Congressional Candidate Bill Boyer of Carlsbad expressed support for the end of the controversy surrounding the Dubai Ports issue, and calls on members of Congress to move forward with the business of the American people.

“I am glad that this situation is resolved,” said Boyer. “Clumsiness caused by the secret nature of the Committee on Foreign Investment; the lack of consultation of members of the administration and Congress; and partisan bickering combined for the backlash against this deal.

Boyer also called for American entrepreneurs to show leadership and fill the need for an American solution to port operations.

“The announcement of DP World to transfer its port-operation interests to an American entity is a good-faith gesture on the part of the government of the United Arab Emirates,” Boyer said. “I hope we can continue our friendly relationship with the United Arab Emirates - a country who is an ally in the War on Terror, purchases airplanes built in the United States, and let’s our Navy stage out of its ports.

“I urge business leaders in this country to take a hard look at this opportunity. A successful American company will ensure more jobs for our citizens, and put to rest the question of security at our strategic gateways to the world,” Boyer said. “In addition to the opportunity for American business, we as citizens should all take the opportunity to take a hard look at security and the foreign control of port operations all over the country – especially in California.

Bill Boyer, a Carlsbad businessman, advocates the need for more “extraordinary citizens from ordinary walks of life” to serve in government. His campaign pledge: He will NOT accept any money from any source. For more on the issues and other information on the BOYER FOR CONGRESS campaign, please visit:  www.BOYERFORCONGRESS.com

Democrats Believe They Can Pull Off Upset in CD52 Too

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 5:35 pm

For the past few months most of the San Diego political buzz has been on the race for the 50th congressional district and Duke Cunningham’s walk of shame from Congressman to ranch hand.

National and local Democrat Party officials have believed that with the Cunningham scandal and weak poll numbers for President Bush that they can win this seat.

Now the Democrats believe they have a shot in the 52nd congressional district where Duncan Hunter is the incumbent.  The San Diego Union Tribune reports on the story here.

I would be shocked if the Republicans lost either or both seats this year.

Is Howard Kaloogian a Liar?

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 3:19 am

We receive a lot of emails with tips, leads and rumors here at the SD Politics Blog.

The same source who steered me towards the allegations of child prostitution and pedophilia by Eric Roach’s former business partner also told us we should look into the antics of Republican candidate, Howard Kaloogian.

Kaloogian’s campaign website and literature makes much of his involvement in the campaign to recall Gov. Gray Davis.  Kaloogian’s campaign says Howard was the "Chairman" of the "Recall Gray Davis Committee."  Many San Diegans probably better associate Congressman Darrell Issa as the leader of the recall campaign since Issa spent millions of dollars to qualify the recall measure.

This is a sentiment shared by the people behind the new website http://www.howardisaliar.com

The website says Kaloogian raised substantial sums of money for his recall committee but did not collect ANY signatures for the recall.  Instead, the website claims that Kaloogian, "presided over a slush fund, not a campaign to recall a governor."  Additionally, the website says: "FACT: Howard Kaloogian’s only involvement in the recall was running a website and collecting money."

So, the questions to ask of Kaloogian’s camp seem to be:

1) How many recall signatures did you collect?

2) When did you get involved in the recall effort?

3) How much money did your recall committee collect?

4) What did you do with the money you collected and how much of that was paid to Howard Kaloogian?

The recall committee Kaloogian founded has the website address http://www.recallgraydavis.com

There are a lot of citations to it in Google and Yahoo! and I’ll have some reports on what I’ve learned from some of my sleuthing in regards to this.

Logan Jenkins Likes Scott Turner Too

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 2:05 am

San Diego Union Tribune columnist Logan Jenkins has expressed admiration for a number of Republican candidates for the 50th Congressional District.  There was a glowing piece on former Del Mar Mayor, Richard Earnest.  There were words of praise for Supervisor Pam Slater Price.  And more praise for her.  And more praise for her.  And then she decided not to run.

Today, Jenkins writes about the merits of former San Diego Charger and Republican candidate, Scott Turner.  Read Logan Jenkins column here.
