Conservatives Tout Endorsements

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 11:06 pm

2 of the conservative candidates for the 50th congressional district are touting new endorsements.

Former left-wing radical turned conservative champion, David Horowitz, has endorsed State Senator Bill Morrow for Congress.

Meanwhile the North Coast Republican Club has endorsed Howard Kaloogian.

It’s funny, it used to be that Kaloogian was announcing prominent national endorsements and now he is focusing on local support.  Morrow used to brag about local in-district support and dismissed Kaloogian’s national endorsements.  Now the two have sort of switched roles.

Uke Selling Off TV Time to Other Candidates

Received an email from one of the congressional campaigns today.

Alan Uke’s exit from the congressional race continues.  He has apparently tried to take back money he had placed on the cable news networks like Fox News Channel, but the cable operators aren’t letting him off so easy.

They are apparently only going to refund to Uke any commercial slots they can sell-off to another candidate.

Barry Jantz says in his blog at the FlashReport that both Uke and Morrow are holding firm in this race.  At least in the case of Uke this is contradicted by what he’s doing behind the scenes.

Union Tribune Bullies Candidates into Releasing Tax Returns

I saw this column in the San Diego Union Tribune.  I’m not too crazy about a candidate for office feeling obligated to turning over their income tax returns if they want to run for office.  We already have a hard time getting good common folk to run for office.  It’s becomming more and more a field of the professional politicians and self-funded millionaires.

One of the better known conservative activists and Internet gurus of the GOP, Steve Frank, has a writeup where he predicts Howard Kaloogian will win the GOP battle for the 50th.  Frank says Kaloogian’s emphasis on building an Internet grassroots army will put him over the top.  Read his column here.
