U-T Notes Ties Between Bilbray Hit Piece and Roach

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 11:23 pm

The Union-Tribune’s Dani Dodge has a story on the anti-Bilbray campaign mailers that were sent out by a group called the California Republican Assembly (CRA).

The group’s webmaster is Jeff Evans.  Mr. Evans is also the webmaster for Eric Roach.

In her article, Dani Dodge asked the CRA president Mike Spence who gave the CRA the $25,000 for the Bilbray mailer but Spence would not say.  Could it have been Eric Roach or his supporters?

"Spence declined to say who donated the $25,000 it cost his group to create and send the mailers."

The Flash Report reported that the CRA’s Jeff Evans was hired onto the Roach campaign to handle mailers, graphics and the website and was a "jack of all trades."

If Roach was indeed the source of funding for the hit piece, you’d have to wonder if he wasn’t looking for revenge for the efforts of Bilbray supporters to report on the ties to pedophilia of Roach’s former business associate.

Francine Busby Seeks Out the McCain Vote

Francine Busby’s latest television ad shows her running to the right.  She supports tougher border security legislation introduced by Republican U.S. Senator, John McCain, and opposed the Bush administration’s efforts to turn over port operations to Dubai because she wants to be tough on terrorism.

Apparently Busby wants some of that Republican vote.

Watch her newest ad "Not About Party" here.  Smart for her to do, because she can’t win in this district unless she can make inroads with Republicans who are disaffected with the GOP but who might normally be scared of voting for a Democrat they found too liberal.

Complaint Filed Against Roach: Illegal Mailer?

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 10:45 pm

The Democrat Party has filed a complaint against "V. Eric Roach" and his campaign for Congress.

The Democrats allege that the Roach campaign illegally sent a mailer from Roach’s wife that did not have any disclaimer or identification on it.

The Swing State Project blog  includes a sample from the letter complete with the text from Meg Roach.  They take a dig at Meg’s penmanship, calling it "Teenage Girl 12 point" and they have a point.
