A story in the San Diego Union-Tribune says that San Diego is in danger of losing its eligibility to apply for anti-terror funding. The Department of Homeland Security is currently reviewing the formula it uses to allow cities to apply. Our mayor, Jerry Sanders, has flown to Washington, D.C. to lobby the federal government to preserve San Diego’s funding.

You joke Ross, but for everything that Duke did wrong, this is the sort of thing that happens when San Diego loses a senior member on the appropriations committee. That’s how DC works. This is actually probably one of the reasons Sanders has (er, I mean is going to) endorse Bilbray. Together, he and Duncan Hunter would probably have enough clout to stop this from happening.
