Those who oppose the war like Busby

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 5:59 pm

While Kaloogian has been hawking his efforts to rally support for the mission in Iraq, OpEd News Bob Burnett says that candidates who strongly opposed the war effort deserve the public’s backing.

He’s compiled a list of the top candidates for the 2006 elections from around the nation.

Topping that list is our very own Democrat candidate for the 50th, Francine Busby.

Anti-War: Rather than treat all Democratic candidates equally, I’ve clustered them into two groups: anti-war and incomprehensible. To gain the BB anti-war rating a candidate must say something about Iraq such as, “I was always against the war” or “We need a detailed plan for withdrawal.” I’ve included the websites for eight anti-war candidates, so you can get more information. Or send money, if you’re impressed.

Kaloogian Moves Forward Thanks to Post-Office Efforts

Another story in Capitol Weekly chronicles Howard Kaloogian’s work since leaving office.  A leader in the recall of Gray Davis, Kaloogian has been active with a pro-troops organization Move America Forward.

Since being termed out of his San Diego-area Assembly seat in 2000, Kaloogian has had a hand in some of the more visible conservative media efforts in recent years. The organization he founded, Move America Forward, has made headlines with campaigns that took on liberal icons such as Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore.

Busby Seeks Upset in the 50th

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 5:54 pm

Capitol Weekly publication has a news report on Democrat Francine Busby’s efforts to defy the political experts and win the 50th congressional district outright on April 11th.

April 11 could be do-or-die for Francine Busby. The Democratic congressional candidate appears to have a slim chance to win a majority in next week’s special election to replace former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham. But she would be a heavy underdog in a runoff as GOP voters unite around a single candidate.

Baldwin Bashes Bilbray in Mailer

More mail is heading for the mailboxes of San Diego County residents who live in the 50th congressional district.

It’s another "hit piece" this time coming from former Assemblyman Steve Baldwin (Republican) and he is very unhappy with Brian Bilbray for supporting a Democrat over Baldwin years ago.

The Flash Report has a report on the mailer including a pdf file for you to view.

Bilbray Admits He Backed Democrat Over GOP Nominee

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 12:11 am

A flurry of emails from people within the past hour saying that Brian Bilbray today confessed that he supported Democrat Steve Peace over the Republican nominee for a state legislative seat.

Bilbray was grilled by Roger Hedgecock on his show today and reportedly was forced to admit that newspaper reports of Bilbray’s actions were accurate and that he backed the Democrat candidate and was admonished by the local Republican Party.

Bilbray Attacks Roach & Kaloogian

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 12:08 am

Republican congressional candidate Brian Bilbray has mailed out a rather expensive looking mailer.

Headlined "Here’s what REAL NEWSPAPERS SAY about the leading candidates for Congress…" the mailer attacks Eric Roach and accuses him of having a "fake newspaper."  It also attacks Kaloogian with a Union-Tribune article that says Tom McClintock "wants to clear up" that he is remaining neutral in the congressional race and has not endorsed any candidate.

The Bilbray mailer goes on to say: "Howard Kaloogian and Eric Roach Do Not Deserve Our Support."

It keeps getting nastier.
