If Francine does not break 40% on Tuesday it is over for her!

If she tops 45% the Republicans in Washington will be sweating bullets, but unless Bilbray is the nominee, this district will remain in the Republican column when the dust settles in June.

If she is between those two benchmarks BOTH sides will claim victory, but I think the handwriting will be on the wall.

Easily? Don't know about that. She's got 39% right now, with all of the Republicans sniping at each other, and not paying attention to her until the last week, she is on easy street...and polling at 39%. She has the entire Dem establishment locally and nationally backing her...and she is at 39%. Once the Rep machine that pounded dems in 2004 gets into full gear around one candidate in the general, she is going to wish for the "good old days" of the primary.

An unpopular republican governor.

A heated Democratic gubenatorial primary.

One thing to remember is that this general will be held the same day as the primary's for the general election.

Turnout at that time will be driven by the primary races for statewide office, something that is much more interesting for the democrats this year.

Busby could easily pull this out in June.

As far as Uke goes, he is like a little spoiled kid who doesn't get his way. He went after Roach because he is jealous of the popular kid. This attack on Roach might move him from 4% to mighty 5%. I mean, what was he thinking? Does Uke really want Bilbray to win? This add isn't going to help Uke in anyway. At most it might help Bilbray. However, I think most people will see through this stupidity and Roach will pull it out. As far as moderate Republicans voting for Busby, its not going to happen. Busby, supporters like to portray her as a moderate. However, in the run off election, when the Republican canidadate will be able to concentrate on attacking her, it will be really easy to show how big of an extremist she is.

The BEST thing for Busby (outside of winning outright on tuesday) would be for one of the leading Republican candidates to win.

There are a lot of Republicans in this district who wouldn't vote for Bilbray, Kaloogian, or Roach. They'll either vote for Busby or stay home in June.

So yeah, even though it doesn't look like Busby can pull off an upset, she's still got a chance to swing moderates to her side.

Republicans really lost out by not having a higher regard for candidates like Uke and Earnest.

Actually, I think we all did. The last thing we need is another congressperson like Kaloogian, Bilbray, or Roach in office.

39, huh? So, you're saying that by Republican reckoning, Tuesday would be a good time for Busby to give a speech under a giant banner reading "Mission Accomplished!"

Speaking for myself, I relish the prospect of a few more months banter with y'all. "Bring it on!"

Well this piece wasn't NEARLY as ngative in tone, graphic design, etc as the Roach not voting piece. Still, I'm a little surprised to see Uke go negative at all. Up until now from what I've seen, he's been a squeaky clean class act, both himself personally and his campaign. He's like the guy in a presidential primary that is nobody's #1, but nice and running a positive campaign so he's a hot pick for VP. So a bit of a surprise, but this isn't negative/attackish enough to lower my opinion of Uke.
